ShowerBuddy presents people with disabilities with space effective solutions for a fraction of the cost of remodelling bathrooms and wet areas, while its light weight, modular design greatly reduces the strain of manual handling on caregivers.
ShowerBuddy’s wheeled commodes and rail transfer systems are designed to fit over most toilets and bath tubs, and offer alternatives that suit patients with a range of conditions, whether children, adult or elderly, whether featuring large wheels for the self propelled or casters to be rolled in and out of the bathroom and about the house by a caregiver.
In supplying these outstanding bathing aids to the Central Coast community, Mobility Joy has identified the SB1 and SB2 models as the most popular among our clientele:
The SB1 ShowerBuddy is designed for curbed showers. This transfer system consists of rolling base (shower chair), bridge and shower base. The rolling base rolls around the house like a wheelchair allowing patient to easily transfer and then roll right over a toilet (certain toilets). Once completed with toileting the rolling base can connect to the bridge and then onto the shower base allowing the chair to slide into the shower. Once inside the shower, the bridge disconnects and the shower base turns allowing the user to face the shower controls.
The SB2 TubBuddy is designed for transferring over bath tubs. It also consists of three sections like the SB1 but with a higher bridge rail and base. Once over the tub the bridge disconnects allowing the curtain to close.
ShowerBuddy systems are designed for efficient infection control by avoiding build up of body fluids or wastewater and by incorporating drainage pathways within the chair frame and parts. They are made of aluminum which will not rust when in contact with water and roll over most toilets - allowing an alternative to a bedside commode. They also offer height adjustability on rolling base, shower base and tub base- allowing for use in a variety of tubs and showers with custom bridge sizes that solve access and mobility challenges in a variety of bathroom configurations.
